The Trembling Giant
When we embarked on a relatively standard three-day photo shoot to capture content for the upcoming Danner Hunt campaign, we had no idea that we would uncover a story much too rich for the scope at hand.
Returning a few months later outfitted with a skilled and nimble crew of motion shooters, we spent over a month capturing content that would become Danner’s first full-length feature film about why people hunt.
“The Trembling Giant” was a monumental task and a true team effort. Shooting more than 30 days back-to-back while schlepping heavy gear up and down Colorado’s Flat Tops Wilderness’s unforgiving terrain was a tall ask and not for the faint of heart. Selling in a full-length documentary film as a piece of needle moving content to the Danner team also had its challenges. And managing the year-long editorial push, sponsorship roster development, premier tour, and launch strategy demanded much from my team and me. I am proud to have had a hand in the creation of this piece that has inspired hunters and non-hunters alike.
